FAQ
In Australia, most people connect to the internet through the National Broadband Network (NBN), which offers different speeds using various technologies. One common type is called Fiber to the Node (FTTN), but there are also others like Fiber to the Premises (FTTP), Fiber to the Curb (FTTC), Fiber to the Building (FTTB), Fixed Wireless, and satellite.
FTTN is a fixed-line connection. The ISP uses fiber optic cables to connect to the node in your neighborhood, and from there, it uses traditional copper cables to connect your homes or businesses. The length of the copper cable may impact your internet speed. Theoretically, a shorter distance of copper cable may result in faster internet speeds.
