Yes, Your Airtel SIM (India) works in Australia. Once you are in Australia, you can select the mobile network like Vodafone, Optus, Telstra etc and you can receive incoming messages without extra charges. If you would like to make outgoing calls/messages or accept incoming calls, you need to pay international roaming charges. Meanwhile, 2G/GSM mobile will no longer have access to any Australian mobile network.
